Getting started

How do I add items to my pantry?

There are three ways. The fastest is to photograph a Woolworths or Coles receipt — Stokkt reads it and adds everything automatically, including quantities and estimated expiry dates. You can also scan individual product barcodes, or add items manually by tapping the + button in the Pantry tab.

How does receipt scanning work?

Open the Pantry tab, tap Scan receipt, and point your camera at any grocery receipt. Stokkt uses AI to read the items, quantities, and categories, then adds them to your pantry in seconds. It works best with printed Woolworths and Coles receipts in good lighting.

How does barcode scanning work?

Tap Scan barcode from the home screen or Pantry tab, then point your camera at any product barcode. Stokkt looks up the product and adds it to your pantry with the correct name and category. You can edit any details before saving.

How does expiry date tracking work?

When you scan a receipt, Stokkt estimates expiry dates based on the product type. These are estimates — you can tap any pantry item to update the expiry date with the exact date printed on the packaging. Stokkt sends you a notification 3 days before anything is due to expire.

Recipes and meal planning

How does recipe matching work?

Stokkt compares your current pantry against a library of 300,000+ recipes and ranks them by how many ingredients you already have. A 90%+ match means you can cook it right now. Lower matches show you what to pick up to make it work.

What is AI recipe generation?

In the Recipes tab, tap Generate to create a completely original recipe built from exactly what you have in your pantry. You can set dietary preferences, cook time, and meal type. Free accounts get 4 generations per month. Stokkt Pro is unlimited.

What is Cook Mode?

Cook Mode guides you through a recipe one step at a time with your screen staying on the whole time. Open any recipe, tap Cook Mode, and tap through each stage at your own pace. When you finish, your pantry automatically updates to reflect the ingredients you used.

How does the meal planner work?

The Meal Plan tab lets you plan meals across the week. Tap any day to add a recipe from your saved recipes, matched recipes, or generate a new AI one. Stokkt Pro users get the full 7-day planner. Free accounts get a 3-day plan.

Account and subscription

What's included in the free plan?

The free plan includes 4 AI recipe generations per month, saving up to 8 recipes, a 3-day meal plan, and 3 receipt scans per month. All pantry management features, barcode scanning, expiry tracking, and the full recipe library are free with no limit.

What does Stokkt Pro include?

Stokkt Pro gives you unlimited AI recipe generation, unlimited receipt scans, the full 7-day meal planner, and unlimited saved recipes. It costs $6.99/month AUD with a 7-day free trial. Cancel anytime — no lock-in.

How do I start or cancel my free trial?

Tap the ⭐ Upgrade to Pro button anywhere in the app to start your 7-day free trial. You won't be charged until the trial ends. To cancel, go to your iPhone Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → Stokkt, and tap Cancel Subscription. Cancelling before the trial ends means you won't be charged.

How do I manage my subscription?

All billing is handled by Apple. Go to iPhone Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions to view, change, or cancel your Stokkt subscription. Stokkt Pty Ltd cannot issue refunds directly — refund requests need to go through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.

I was charged after cancelling — what do I do?

Subscriptions must be cancelled at least 24 hours before the current billing period ends to avoid the next charge. If you believe you were charged in error, contact Apple directly at reportaproblem.apple.com — they handle all billing and refunds.

Troubleshooting

Receipt scanning isn't working

Make sure the receipt is flat, well-lit, and the full receipt is visible in the frame. Crumpled or faded receipts can reduce accuracy. If scanning fails, you can always add items manually. Free accounts are limited to 3 receipt scans per month — Stokkt Pro is unlimited.

Notifications aren't showing up

Check that Stokkt has permission to send notifications: iPhone Settings → Stokkt → Notifications → Allow Notifications. If notifications are enabled but still not appearing, try deleting and reinstalling the app — your account data is saved and will sync back automatically.

My pantry data disappeared

Pantry data is tied to your account and syncs to the cloud. If items are missing, make sure you're signed in to the correct account. Try pulling down on the Pantry screen to refresh. If data is still missing, contact us and we'll investigate.

The app is crashing or behaving unexpectedly

First try closing and reopening the app. If the issue persists, delete and reinstall Stokkt from the App Store — your data is saved to your account and will restore on sign-in. If the problem continues, email us with a description of what happened and we'll look into it.

How do I delete my account?

To permanently delete your account and all associated data, email us at support@stokkt.com.au with the subject line "Delete my account" from the email address registered to your account. We'll process the request within 7 business days and confirm by email when it's done.
